Web hosting provider PEER 1 Hosting announced on Tuesday that it has launched its IPv6 enabled 10GB backbone network – the product of a $10 million investment and three years’ work – as the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses becomes an increasingly urgent issue of concern. PEER 1 says the upgrade makes its network one of the few to support both IPv4 and IPv6, meaning customers’ websites will be visible to all users, everywhere, no matter what network or hardware configurations they might be using.
